It was a successful season for Warriors star forward Draymond Green.

Despite not having lofty scoring averages, he did earn an All-Star appearance. Green is up for a contract extension in the near future as he has a player option for the season after next, having one more fully guaranteed year.

The Golden State Warriors may look to extend four-time All-Star forward Draymond Green, but he may have to improve his value first.

Green averaged 7.5 points per game last year which ranked 6th in his 10-year NBA career. His scoring wasn’t necessarily there this season, but his impact certainly was, especially on the defensive end.

Now, Green is 32 years old, and when his contract is up, he’ll be 34.

There’s good reason to believe he could be pushing for an extension because he may not see that same type of money when he’s a few years older, especially with the Warriors needing to retain some young talent and currently coming off an NBA Championship.

The Dubs do have the ability to give Green what he wants, but they should be more inclined to if Green again proves himself and has an impressive 2022-2023 campaign. Here are three ways he can ensure the max extension is on the table.
