How Draymond Green can improve value: Become a better three-point shooter
One of the oddest situations in sports has been the decline of Green’s ability to shoot from deep. With two-time MVP Stephen Curry and five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson on the roster, this has been a drastically overlooked part of his game.
Green figured out how to play without a terrific three-point shot this season, shooting over 50% from the field for the first time in his career. However, from his 2015-2016 season, Green’s three-point shooting declined each season.
That streak broke last season, but the star forward still was under 30% from behind the arc, a streak that is currently four seasons long.
If he wants to improve his value and show his dedication to what would help the Dubs the most, he can get in the gym this offseason and practice his shot, especially given that most of his attempts from deep are reasonably open.
Green would help open up the court for athletic players that make cuts in the Warriors’ motion-heavy offense. It would help the Dubs offense quite a bit.
