How Draymond Green can improve value: Increase role in the offense

Everyone knows what Green of capable of defensively.

He should’ve been among the top candidates for Defensive Player of the Year last season. His impact is there as one of the league’s best on-ball defenders. His communication has always also been a strength.

However, Green needs to hold up that energy offensively, and this past season was not his best in that department.

He averaged 7 assists per game which were down from 8.9 the season prior. Green’s bread and butter is setting up others, and the Dubs having an isolation-heavy player like Andrew Wiggins wasn’t great for showcasing Green’s value.

He also had the lowest free-throw percentage of his career at just 65.9%. Thankfully, Green shot just two attempts from the line this past season, so his struggle in that area didn’t impact Golden State too much.
