Fit in defensively

So, how does the young core manage to meet the first goal on our list?

There is no easier way than to fit in defensively and provide intensity each night.

You’ve probably heard this before but defense is mostly effort at the NBA level. Pushing yourself to stay in the play and disrupt the opponent is the difference between being a poor defender and a passable one.

The rest? It all comes down to experience, IQ and downright physical talent.

Luckily for the Warriors, the young core has some talented prospects.

Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and James Wiseman all have plenty of room to grow but are prototypical builds for their position. Each of them poses a real chance of becoming an elite defender.

For Jordan Poole, passable should be the goal. He’s made up for his limitations by being a scorcher on offense but a bit of improvement on the defensive end would go a long way for JP.
