The Golden State Warriors locked up their fourth championship in eight seasons just a few months ago. Since then, quite a bit has happened with the most notable being Kevin Durant requesting a trade.

The rumors have since slowed, but what happens with the former MVP could still ultimately determine which team heads into the season projected to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the year.

The Golden State Warriors aren’t typically seen as the best team in the NBA, but they should feel comfortable in their ability to repeat as champs.

Until then, the Warriors should be seen as the top dogs in the NBA, especially after running through four playoff series without a single Game 7. Golden State took a 2-1 deficit into Game 4 and won the next three straight, a mightily impressive feat.

They’ll be returning the key parts of that roster as the Big 3 (Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson) are all locked up for next season.

Even first-time All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, the latter of which is on a team option for the final year of his rookie contract, will be back for the Dubs. Golden State only lost Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II.

That said, let’s dive into 3 reasons why the Dubs should be seen as the top team in the league moving forward.
