Why Warriors should be title favorites: Young, improving talent

The Warriors are going to have players that will be better than they were a season ago.

The two names that should immediately pop out to fans are second-year forward Jonathan Kuminga and third-year center James Wiseman. Kuminga is just 19 years old and should continue to progress.

He showed great promise as both a cutter, shooter, and defender last season. He should be Green’s backup and offer great support to the second unit. As a rookie, he averaged 9.3 points per game and shot 51% from the field.

On the other hand, Wiseman averaged 11.5 points per game as a rookie and missed the entire last season. He was the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and hasn’t quite shown the promise many were expecting. He’ll back up Kevon Looney and should be a solid option.

Jordan Poole, who was among the top sixth men in the NBA last season, should continue to improve, as should 2021 lottery pick Moses Moody who showed promise as a rookie. All four should see an increased role and help the Dubs get back to the NBA Finals.
