Team perfect placed to sign Warriors’ Jordan Poole: Orlando Magic

It’s all about coupling need and fit, and the Magic could be a team that is in a perfect place to add the 23-year-old guard.

Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner look to be the future of the team, and adding another elite scoring option should cap off the Magic’s rebuilding process. The Magic ranked second-to-last in the NBA in points per game a season ago.

Banchero, the No. 1 overall pick, will help boost their scoring, as will more experience for their young players, but with many rookie contracts, they’ll have the cap and clearly have the need for an efficient, score-first guard.

Per Spotrac, the Magic will have the fifth-most projected practice cap space. Basically speaking, they don’t have many high-contract players, and Poole could become of the few non-rookie, non-minimum deals they have.

One executive is already preparing for Orlando to make the offer as well, so the writing could be on the wall if an extension isn’t finalized soon.
