Team perfect placed to sign Warriors’ Jordan Poole: Indiana Pacers

The Pacers are among the teams best-suited to make a run at Poole, and after trading away Malcolm Brogdon this offseason, it makes more sense than ever. Tyrese Haliburton is going to be the long-term option there, but Poole is the better scorer.

They could compliment each other perfectly.

The Pacers also have among the most cap space for next season as center Myles Turner is going to hit the free agency market. Indiana is expected to have the league’s fourth-most projected practical cap space for next offseason, so they should be primed to snag a few key pieces.

Poole needs to go to a team where he’s going to be able to flourish. Indiana should provide him that opportunity as his playmaking, especially alongside a terrific outside shooter like Halliburton, should help turn their franchise around.

Indiana hasn’t had a player of Poole’s scoring level since Paul George. With Arizona’s Benedict Mathurin, the draft’s No. 6 overall pick, also in Indiana, there’s no telling what that trio of guards (with Mathurin at the three) could accomplish.
