Warriors player that could be traded: James Wiseman

Last but not least is James Wiseman.

An article on Warriors’ potential trades wouldn’t be right without Wiseman as it feels he’s been used in rumors for the last seasons, really ever since being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Wiseman, a top prospect out of Memphis, played some of his rookie year and was truly force-fed minutes on a team that was a one-man show with Curry leading the charge.

Wiseman averaged 11.5 points per game and shot 52% from the field. Wiseman is under contract for two more seasons and needs to improve quite a bit to get a near-max deal. Defending without fouling will continue to be a big area of concern.

He also has shown some promise as a shooter, so that will something to watch. Not only does Wiseman make $9.6 million and then $12.1 million next season, but he has one of the highest trade values on the team.

Trading Wiseman for a player like Durant makes sense, but also trying to find a way to send him elsewhere and then retain Poole, if he’ll take a cut, is another potential reason to deal the 7-foot center.

Wiseman, Poole, and Moody may not be dealt, but as noted, there are reasons why all three could be on the block in the near future.
