3 Storylines critical to Golden State Warriors’ 2023 title hopes

Klay Thompson’s health
Klay Thompson’s journey back from multiple season-ending, potentially career-ending injuries is perhaps the single-greatest comeback story in the history of the NBA.
To suffer a torn ACL in the waning moments of an NBA Finals elimination game, spend the entire next season (and a pandemic) in recovery — only to tear an Achilles just weeks before the start of the 2020-21 season is nothing short of a nightmare.
Thompson did not give up, of course.
He continued his rehab and made a successful return in January 2022. Almost three years after his first injury, Thompson helped hoist a championship trophy once again.
But the journey isn’t over. Thompson now has the task of playing an entire regular season, something he hasn’t done since 2018-19.
An entirely new hurdle and one the Warriors are hopeful Thompson can clear with ease — much of their title hopes rest on Thompson maintaining this streak of good health.
