Warriors player most likely traded: Jordan Poole

The Golden State Warriors don’t want to watch Jordan Poole walk, but they may not have a choice. At the end of the day, it’ll be between Poole and Andrew Wiggins with most expecting the latter to be the preferred option.

That means the 23-year-old Poole would be a restricted free agent with the Warriors not in a position to retain the star guard. Poole has increased his scoring by almost 60% each season, topping out at 18.5 points per game this past year.

Poole is going to play on a team option this season in which he’ll make $3.9 million. While he may not see a nine-figure contract, Poole could see something in the $80 million ballpark if he continues his impressive play.

Who might want Poole?

Well, a team like Charlotte or Miami that may need a star, score-first guard and could intrigue him into staying for the long-term future. Indiana, who has Myles Turner under contract for one more season, could be another potential option.

Poole is a budding star, but it would be smarter to trade him for a player on a contract that links up with who they could play, like James Bouknight, than let him play the season out, especially after Golden State struggled to keep him on the court in the NBA Finals.
