The Golden State Warriors are set to begin a quest to defend their title. Stephen Curry will be at the core of their success.

Stephen Curry will determine if the Golden State Warriors win another championship or not. Here is a season preview for Curry.

Since bursting onto the scene as an MVP in 2015, Curry has helped lift the Dubs to four championships in just eight seasons.

While many other players have contributed, Curry has always been the key to everything for Golden State.

As he enters his 14th NBA season, what more does Curry have to prove? What will his latest chapter look like?

Where we left off

The last we saw Curry was Game 6 of the NBA Finals, where he scored 34 points on the road and captured the first Finals MVP trophy of his career.

Prior to the playoffs, Curry was having an unusual season. He averaged just 25.5 points in the regular season, his fewest in a fully-healthy season since Kevin Durant joined in 2016. Curry also shot a career-worse 38% from the 3-point line (still better than most of the NBA).

Still, Curry capped off the 2021-22 NBA season with a bang — concluding the year with a championship to go with the all-time 3-point record he broke midway through the season.

What to expect this year

I wouldn’t bet on Curry taking any steps backward this season.

He’s been arguably a top-three player in the NBA every year since 2015 and he’s honestly only getting better as a defender, finisher and playmaker.

While Curry had a bit of an odd 3-point slump in the regular season, he will enjoy a full season next to Draymond Green and Klay Thompson — something he hasn’t had since 2018-19.

Putting the big three back together means trouble for the rest of the league. Could Curry rattle off another MVP run?

With the Warriors entering the year as favorites to repeat, I’d say he has a good chance.
