Draymond Green

The former Defensive Player of the Year and three-time champion, Draymond Green, has hinted that he will opt out of his contract this summer to negotiate a max contract extension.

This could be his last chance to earn a max-level contract, given his age and potentially dwindling value.

For Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, the future is still bright. They have years of paychecks ahead of them, even if they don’t secure max dollars.

In contrast, Green is running out of time to collect checks. At least, from the NBA — as it seems all but certain a lucrative career in the media is in the works for Draymond.

A bummer of a season could cost Green from pulling in another max contract before entering his basketball twilight years.
