Quick Thoughts

Where was Moody? He only played 8 minutes and looked good in those minutes hitting 2 of his 4 shots and playing good defense. He seemed ticketed for a clear rotation role, and his barely playing was shocking, to say the least.

Klay Thompson looks much improved from last season. His jumper has more arc on it, and he’s getting more lift when he shoots from his legs. He’s finally getting over 2 years removed from the Achilles injury and it’s showing, he’s bound for a bounceback season with his shooting.

Wiggins’ contract seems like such a steal. Again, 1 game shouldn’t be a bed for hot takes, but he took a pay cut to stay with the Warriors and you can see what a steal it was. He just looks very good on both ends. Stable presence on offense and defense. Sometimes it’s nice to know what you’re getting out of a player every day.

There’s a very good chance this team ends up better than last season’s team but a lot of that is based on hope and optimism that the young guys improve. While they struggled as a unit, individually, they all had moments that reinforce the belief that they are going to improve a lot. They’ve got time to improve before the playoffs and it’s good to see them get a lot of minutes.

The new Warriors rings are beautiful and it’s very surreal to see 4 banners being raised. This is the greatest era of Warriors basketball we’re witnessing.

The Warriors have a 2-day break before the Denver Nuggets come visiting. Nuggets will be the first true test of the Warriors’ season, as they figure to be one of the Dubs’ biggest threats to repeating. Till then though, enjoy the win. It’s always great to start 1-0.
