Three things the Golden State Warriors can do to turn things around
The Warriors have struggled to define roles this season.
The Warriors have started off the season with some players trying to play a role they were never supposed to be fulfilling. Some are trying to do too much and hurting the team, some are doing too little and stunting the offense.
Klay Thompson is the greatest example of exceeding roles this season. He has been trying all season, as well as last season to create off the dribble and needs to just go back to his roots of a pure catch and shoot player. His numbers will rise back up if he just plays the way he’s used to, rather than trying to be an older version of Bradley Beal. It’s understandable given he badly wants to find a shooting rhythm, but it’s also leading to poor shot quality for the 32-year-old.
Conversely, you could argue Moody is the exact opposite. He seems nearly scared to shoot the ball sometimes, and he needs to find a better relationship between doing that and driving to the rim.
Getting these guys, as well as a few other players like Wiseman and Kuminga, to play within the role the Warriors need, will improve the play of them individually and more importantly, the team as a whole.
These are just three ideas on how to potentially address some complex, but fixable issues with the Warriors. Some may occur and some won’t, but ultimately the fate of this season lays in the hands of the Warriors personnel.
