The Golden State Warriors have again taken advantage of the Houston Rockets’ 28th ranked defense, breaking another three-point record for the second-straight game.

Two weeks ago on November 20, the dynamic trio of Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins broke an NBA record with 23 combined three-pointers. Now, on Saturday night, the latter two again combined to succumb Houston to another shooting onslaught.

Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins combined for 66 points and 16 made threes as the Golden State Warriors recorded a 120-101 win over the Houston Rockets.

According to ESPN, via Kendra Andrews, ‘Curry and Wiggins are the third pair of teammates to each make eight three-pointers in the same game, while also being the first in Warriors history.

Thompson was rested on the second night of a back-to-back after the Warriors claimed an unconvincing but important win over the Chicago Bulls on Friday night. Golden State showed no signs of tiredness as they bounced out to a 17-4 lead within five minutes, then had a 52-27 lead nearly halfway through the second quarter.

The Rockets were on their own back-to-back, though were buoyed by a shocking one-point upset win over the Phoenix Suns. They responded to the Warriors’ early punch by going on a 20-5 run through the second, and by halfway through the fourth had reduced the margin to just four. Golden State did steady and ran out comfortable winners, but they had to exert far more effort than they otherwise would have liked.

Wiggins (8-for-10) and Curry (8-for-17) weren’t the only Warriors who enjoyed impressive shooting games, with Golden State shooting 25-for-52 (48.1%) from deep as a team. Starting next to Curry in the backcourt, Jordan Poole went 5-for-8 from three for 21 points, while Moses Moody also took advantage of Thompson’s absence by drilling all three of his triples in 17 minutes of action.
