Golden State Warriors chalk up tenth-straight home win

The Golden State Warriors extended their league-leading home record to a 11-1 after defeating the Houston Rockets 120-101 on the second night of a back-to-back at Chase Center. With an afternoon matinee start on Saturday, the Warriors took the floor ready to take care of business and hit their first seven shots to build a 17-4 lead.

The Golden State Warriors shot 12-for-24 (50%) from distance, and 60.5% overall, in a game-decisive first half as they returned to the locker room with a 68-52 lead.

The third saw Golden State extend their advantage to twenty points before turnover and foolish fouls late in the quarter allowed Houston to cut into their lead. The Rockets went to their bench, entering the fourth down 94-80.

Houston would go on an 18-3 run to cut the Dubs’ advantage to just four points with under seven minutes left in the game. Aided by turnovers and untimely fouls, Golden State let go of the rope and the lead they’d built so effectively over the first three-quarters. The team from The Bay quickly put the game away thanks to their barrage of three-point shooting, finishing the night 25-for-52 (48.1%) from distance.

Andrew Wiggins led all scores with 36 points, playing thirty-four minutes and going 14-for-19 from the field and 8-for-10 from beyond the arc. He also added five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block, with a +34 plus-minus rounding out his season-best game.

Stephen Curry contributed 30 points on 10-for-21 shooting and 8-for-17 from three, also recording three rebounds, ten assists, one steal, one block and was a +19 in 35 minutes. Jordan Poole added 21 points and was +25 in 28 minutes, while Moses Moody saw 17 minutes of action and Moses Moody and went 3-for-3 from distance with 11 points.

The Indiana Pacers will make their only appearance at Chase Center on Monday night, where Golden State attempts to extend their two-game winning streak and 11-1 home record. The Dubs will go on the road after completing their three-game home stand, with a mid-week contest at Vivint Arena against the Utah Jazz. The defending champions will then return home for a Friday night showdown with the Boston Celtics as a repeat of the 2022 NBA Finals.
