The remaining two games of this eight-game home stand are a deep concern for Steve Kerr, his coaching staff, and the Golden State Warriors. A desperation prayer from Saddiq Bey at the buzzer proved a devastating loss for the reigning champions against the draft-lottery frontrunner, the Detroit Pistons. Kerr will need to refocus his men before they take to the road for the following five games.

A balanced Golden State Warriors, with the return of Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins, will need to be engaged and committed to winning away from Chase Center.

With the intent of improving their apathetic 2-16 road, Kerr’s goal is to leave the endearing comfort of Chase Center, with all its winning attributes, as the mindset for the next five road games. The perils of the Dubs’ past adventures on the road should be fixated on unproductive positions, untimely turnovers, limiting opponents’ opportunities to reach the foul line, being engrossed in defending both the paint and the three-point line, and engaged in the domination of the glass.

Along with the anticipated returns of All-Stars Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins, there’s also optimism we’ll see Andre Iguodala on the floor in the near future. His veteran presence will aid Jordan Poole’s productive minutes and may limit the need for Draymond Green’s use in the second unit.

With the fifth or sixth seed within sight, Golden State can’t afford to remain unfocused for their next trip on the road. But just as equally, the team’s confidence and morale will be subject to their final two games of this eight-game homestand against the young Orlando Magic and the Devin Booker-less Phoenix Suns. These two games are critical in making sure that the Warriors don’t undo their good work from the opening five games of the home stand.

Next. Jordan Poole’s decision-making and consistency are becoming a problem for the Golden State Warriors. dark

With the return of Curry, Wiggins and JaMychal Green, youngsters Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman, along with the potential inclusion of Iguodala, Golden State will want to exit their home stand with a 22-19 record and then build on their momentum throughout the road-trip.
