Anthony Lamb and Ty Jerome’s two-way contracts are a concern for Bob Myers and the Golden State Warriors. With a 50-game limitation on their two-way contracts fast approaching, the general manager will have to make a roster move soon; odds are before the trade deadline.

Will the Golden State Warriors convert Anthony Lamb, Ty Jerome, or both two-way players to full roster spots after their 55-game limit?

Steve Kerr revealed in a recent pre-game Interview that the 15th roster spot has been saved and reserved for a player who may be in the buyout market. If the Warriors’ target becomes available and Myers successfully signs the mystery player, the Warriors’ GM will have to shuffle the deck.

Lamb has played in 31 games this season, and Jerome has appeared in 23. If the 15th roster spot is filled by a different targeted player, the Warriors’ President of Basketball Operations may be required to move one of the recent Golden State lottery picks. The trade value for the players exceeds what the Warriors would get in return. Oddly, if Myers had to choose, Lamb, the 6’6″ undrafted small forward from the small college of Vermont, would be the one he would convert.

It’s unlikely that either of Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga nor James Wiseman will be traded before the deadline on February 9th, with Andre Iguodala and Jamychal Green as Myers’ complicated options. Take Iguodala out of any scenario given his experience and leadership, and it’s been rumored that Green’s contract prohibits him from being moved without his consent. This leaves the Warriors with little opportunity to sign both Lamb and Jerome.

Both have been the two-way players’ success stories of the league; they have not played a single G League game to this point. Myers may leave the Warriors with only a gambler’s choice with the attempt to re-sign both players during the offseason.
