With the NBA trade deadline now passed, all attention now turns to the buyout market and who may become available. With a roster spot still open and less than 30 games left in the season, the Golden State Warriors should be active in looking at potential free agent options.

With the need for another big man and possibly a two-way forward, the Golden State Warriors should still be on the search to upgrade their roster.

The Warriors are already behind the eight ball with a number of contenders already making moves. The Milwaukee Bucks will bring in former Clipper point-guard Reggie Jackson, the Cleveland Cavaliers will sign veteran Danny Green, and the Phoenix Suns will acquire former Orlando Magic wing Terrence Ross. Let’s rank seven players player who are or could be available for Golden State.

7. Russell Westbrook

Noooooooo. You couldn’t think of a more anti-Warrior player than Russell Westbrook. A player who needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and doesn’t provide defense, is not the type of player that works in Steve Kerr’s system. Still with an element of explosion towards the rim and always capable of filling the box score, hopefully the future Hall of Famer gets another shot after a likely buyout with the Utah Jazz. It certainly won’t be with Golden State though.

6. John Wall

See Westbrook comments above. Injuries have limited John Wall’s once explosive athleticism, making him a much less valuable commodity across the league. He was viewed as a notable acquisition by the Los Angeles Clippers during the offseason, but it didn’t pan out and he was moved before the deadline. Wall will be a free agent again after another buyout with the Houston Rockets, but it’s definitely a pass from a Warriors’ perspective.
