Coming off an important overtime win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, the Golden State Warriors will seek their second-straight victory when the Phoenix Suns enter Chase Center on Monday night.

The 37-30 Suns will enter without the recently acquired superstar Kevin Durant, with the franchise announcing on Thursday that the former Warrior would miss at least three weeks with an ankle injury. The two-time Finals MVP sustained the injury when he slipped during the warmup of what was supposed to be his home debut at Footprint Center last Wednesday.

Kevin Durant will miss another game at Chase Center as the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors get set for another crucial matchup on Monday.

Durant’s absence means he’s still yet to play in front of fans at Chase Center since leaving the franchise to head to Brooklyn in the 2019 offseason. Earlier this season he missed the Nets lone visit to The Bay before being dealt to the Suns prior to the trade deadline. Dangerous three-point shooter Landry Shamet is also out for Phoenix, having played in just one of his team’s last 26 games.

There’s positive news for the Warriors with Jonathan Kuminga upgraded to questionable for Monday’s matchup. The exciting second-year forward has missed the last two games with an ankle injury.

Draymond Green is probable after sustaining an ankle injury of his own during the third-quarter of the win against Milwaukee. The four-time champion was adamant that he’d play against the Suns when asked after the game, even though he conceded it would be sore in the 24 hours prior. Veteran teammate Andre Iguodala is also probable, while Golden State will again be without Andrew Wiggins and Gary Payton II.

The Suns have already clinched the season series having won all three of the teams’ previous matchups this season. That included a surprise 125-113 victory over the Warriors at Chase Center on January 10 — a game in which they were missing four of their five starters and some crucial bench pieces.
