The Golden State Warriors got one of their biggest wins in quite some time on Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. With the way the Western Conference standings are shaping up, the defending champions needed a win to try and maintain their sixth-place spot.

Getting a win over one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference is a good way to do that, and a good way to build momentum going into Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, the Warriors could have very well lost against a 76ers that was without their second-best player in James Harden, with the former MVP having a tremendous season and remaining close to a top-five point guard in the league.

Unlike their previous win against the Dallas Mavericks, the Golden State Warriors’ win on Friday was predicated on a few key players.

Had it not been for Jordan Poole’s 33 points, Stephen Curry’s 29, and a few others contributors, the Warriors could have easily lost after facing a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit. Let’s take a look at a few players who underperformed in Golden State’s 39th win of the season.

Donte DiVincenzo

It was a down game for DiVincenzo — in a game where nearly every starter played their tails off, he was the lone man out. Forget the fact that he missed his two field-goal attempts, the fact he wasn’t aggressive enough to find more than two shots in 19 minutes of play is a concern. That has to change, especially because we know DiVincenzo is capable of knocking down a few perimeter jumpers each game.

Jonathan Kuminga

The second-year forward is averaging 15 points in his last 10 games, and that is including his poor scoring performance on Friday night against the 76ers. He has been great recently but was quieter against the 76ers, finishing 1-for-7 from field and recording just two rebounds and two assists. A more productive Kuminga performance and it could have been a much more comfortable win.

Anthony Lamb

Lamb has been pretty good since being converted to a full contract given the absence of Andrew Wiggins. But on Friday night he finished with just two points on 1-for-4 shooting, with one rebound and one assist. Lamb was also a -4 in a game the Warriors won by eight. If Golden State can get him going too, along with the others above, it’ll be difficult to stop this team over the last stretch of the season.
