A dominant second-half performance has powered the Golden State Warriors to the second-round of the NBA Playoffs, with Stephen Curry’s record-breaking 50-point Game 7 putting an end to the Sacramento Kings’ exciting season.

Golden State’s win sets up a mouth-watering showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers who defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in six games. The anticipated series will also usher the newest iteration of perhaps the biggest individual rivalry in the last decade — Stephen Curry v LeBron James.

The Golden State Warriors will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semifinals. Check out the full schedule below.

Funnily enough, after only scraping out of the play-in mix on the last day of the regular season, the Warriors will actually hold home-court advantage against the seven-seed Lakers. It’s the first time the sixth and seventh seeds will face off since the Seattle Supersonics played the Houston Rockets in the 1987 NBA Playoffs.

It will mark the first playoff series between Curry and James since the 2018 NBA Finals, though they did battle in a Play-In Game in 2021. The pair famously battled in four-straight NBA Finals between 2015 and 2018 before James left for the Lakers. Both players have won a further championship since they last saw each other in the postseason.

It’s a quick turnaround for the Warriors who will have to move on from the euphoric feeling of winning a Game 7. We’re now just over 48 hours from Game 1 with Golden State returning home to The Bay to open the series.

Unlike the first-round series where there were multiple games with two full days of rest, the Warriors and Lakers will be playing every other day — that adds an intriguing element given the aging nature of both teams’ star players.

Golden State and Los Angeles will be vying to earn a spot in the Conference Finals against either the Denver Nuggets or Phoenix Suns. The former holds a 1-0 lead in that series after a dominant win at home in Game 1 on Saturday.
