2. Kevin Durant

Finals MVP: 2017, 2018

Joining Golden State in an extremely controversial move in the summer of 2016, Kevin Durant added another layer to a team that had already achieved the best regular season record in NBA history. Pairing him and Stephen Curry together created one of the most dangerous duos the league had ever seen.

His scoring expertise manifested itself in the form of 35.2 points per game on 55/47/92% shooting percentages in the 2017 NBA Finals. In one of the greatest individual performances in Finals history, KD picked the Cleveland Cavaliers apart, hitting what was essentially the series-clinching shot in game three over LeBron James to help the Warriors take a 3-0 series lead.

One year later, he and the Warriors were back in the Finals against the same opponent. In a four-game sweep of the Cavs, he put up a second-straight Finals averaging at least 50% from the field and 40% from three. Durant made another crucial fourth quarter shot from nearly the same spot on the floor as the previous year in game three, sealing up a 3-0 lead for Golden State yet again.

His contributions in his three seasons as a Warrior were absolutely massive, and it is highly unlikely the Dubs would have gone to three straight Finals in 2017-2019 without him. However, his two Finals MVPs were not enough to eclipse the top player on our list.
