Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers need some luck at the draft lottery, but they’re unlikely to get up to number one as they hold just a 6.8% chance. Still, the thought of a Wembanyama-Tyrese Haliburton duo is something for their fans to rightfully salivate at.

If the Pacers do somehow turn that dream into a reality, then it may spell the end of their current center Myles Turner. Given both he and Wembanyama’s ability to stretch the floor, they could conceivably play together and become a devastating shot-blocking combination.

Indiana may decide to bite the bullet though and allow Wembanyama to be the main defensive presence on the interior. Turner has long been involved in trade speculation, but has somewhat surprisingly remained with the Pacers across the entirety of his eight-year career. He even extended with Indiana and now has two-years and $40.9 million remaining on his deal.

The thought of Turner on the Warriors has always been an intriguing prospect, namely because of his shot-blocking and three-point shooting which projects as a nice foil next to Draymond Green. If the Pacers were to land the number one pick, Golden State could do worse than to give them a call and see what it could take to pry Turner away from the franchise.
