The top 3 offseason priorities for the Golden State Warriors

2. Re-Sign Donte DiVincenzo
One of the few bright spots from the Warriors’ second-round series was the consistent bench production of Donte DiVincenzo. While Jordan Poole’s erratic play kept him glued to the bench, DiVincenzo stepped up with some quality minutes on both ends of the floor.
Golden State used their mid-level exception to acquire DiVincenzo in free agency last off-season and the veteran guard had a solid year, averaging 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from the field.
Coach Steve Kerr could always rely on DiVincenzo to lock in defensively and make the right reads within the flow of the game. Like many of his Wildcat contemporaries, the Villanova product brought the same level of intensity every game, earning him more opportunities in high-leverage situations.
After the Warriors’ disappointing playoff exit, DiVincenzo was asked if he would like to return to Golden State next season.
"“I absolutely love being a Golden State Warrior. The guys in the locker room, the coaching staff, the training staff, from day one, it’s felt like home. So obviously I would love to be a Warrior. But I’ll cross that bridge; we’ll figure it out with the front office and everything. We’ll figure out that bridge once we get here.”"
The 26-year-old has a $4.7 million player option for next season, but he is likely to decline in favor of a more lucrative deal given that he outplayed his last deal. He’d love to be back, and the Warriors would love to have him, but Golden State is facing a collective payroll that already exceeds the luxury tax apron, meaning that retaining DiVincenzo is a long shot at best. Still, depth was a big issue for the Dubs last season and they should exhaust every option in trying to bring him back.
