Many Golden State Warriors’ fans are worried about the team’s immediate future following a disappointing end to their season, but don’t go telling franchise owner Joe Lacob that the dynasty is dead.

Despite a disappointing end to a rough 2022-23 campaign against the Los Angeles Lakers in the second-round,  and a shaky start to the offseason that’s included the loss of longtime GM Bob Myers, there’s plenty of internal optimism about the Warriors returning to championship contention.

Golden State Warriors’ owner Joe Lacob has the utmost confidence in his team, believing they “will win again” ahead of a crucial offseason for the franchise.

Matt Steinmetz, host of 95.7 The Game’s “Steiny & Guru,” shared part of a text message conversation he had with Lacob, in which he expressed some of his concerns surrounding the future of the franchise.

"“I said, ‘Joe, to be honest with you, I don’t think you guys can stay relevant over the next five, 10 years.’ I said, ‘All dynasties come to an end,” Steiny noted. “You’re in uncharted waters in terms of keeping [players].’ I said, ‘I just don’t see it, Joe.’”"

"“This is why he’s great,” Steiny added. “He said, ‘I appreciate that, keep saying it. Because I love proving people wrong.’ But the point is he doesn’t take it personally.” Joe said, ‘We’re going to win again.’”"

Where many owners are stingy about spending large amounts of their own money, Lacob has always maintained that he truly cares about winning, and the man puts his money where his mouth is. He’s consistently invested in championship-level rosters, and the Warriors have enjoyed unparalleled star-power over the years thanks to Lacob’s willingness to spend well above the luxury-tax.

The coming years will be no different. Draymond Green is likely to opt-out of his player option for next season and negotiate a lucrative new deal, and Klay Thompson will likely face a similar situation when he’s out of contract at the end of next season.

Golden State has no plans of blowing up it’s all-time great Curry-Green-Thompson trio, but make no mistake — keeping them together won’t be cheap. If Lacob is serious about bringing his fifth championship to the Bay, big financial decisions and important sacrifices will have to be made.
