5 Jordan Poole replacements that could be more impactful in 2024 playoffs

1. Herb Jones
The Pelicans could decide to keep Trey Murphy III, but they are facing a decision on Jonas Valanciunas’ future as he enters the last season of his contract. If New Orleans moves on, they could be searching for an upgrade on the trade market. Could the Pelicans swing a deal for Jordan Poole and try to build around four pillars?
Herb Jones will be a restricted free agent next summer, and the Pelicans are unlikely to have room below the second tax apron to pay him. Could that open the door for New Orleans to trade him this summer in a Jonas Valanciunas deal?
Jones is an elite defender that can take on any matchup. His length and versatility would be welcomed in Golden State, but the Warriors would have to iron out his jumper. Jones has made just 33.6 percent of his 336 career 3-point attempts.
Could the Golden State Warriors pry Herb Jones away from the Pelicans? Would they be able to work out a reasonable long-term contract for him to stick in San Francisco? Those are questions, but it is certainly worth exploring if the Dubs can add an elite defender and cut down on their spending for next season and beyond.
Will the Warriors trade Jordan Poole this summer? What can fans expect in return? Stay tuned for all the latest.
