Trading up to No. 11

If the Golden State Warriors don’t want to give up a future first-round pick, they could turn to the Orlando Magic with their second first-round pick (No. 11 overall) as a potential trade partner. The big question that I have with this deal is whether or not the Magic would be open to this simple of a swap. In this hypothetical deal, the Warriors would send Jonathan Kuminga and the No. 19 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft for the No. 11 pick.

With the uncertainty that surrounds Jonathan Isaac heading into the offseason, the Magic could look to add another power forward before free agency (when they’re expected to make a run at a veteran point guard). Kuminga could be a solid option and addition to an already talented Magic roster.

The Warriors would move up eight spots and theoretically land the player they believe would be a better fit on the roster right now than Kuminga is. I don’t believe this is a perfect deal for both sides but it’s something that could make sense depending on how the first 10 picks of the NBA Draft go.

The lack of a second-round pick for the Warriors in this year’s NBA Draft could end up spoiling this deal from possibly going down.
