Trading up to No. 14

If the Golden State Warriors believed that they could get their lottery target by just moving up five spots, the New Orleans Pelicans are a team that could be willing to pay ball. Again, it would be so much easier if the Warriors had a second-round pick to use as icing on the cake of a potential deal, but perhaps Moses Moody and the No. 19 pick would be enough for the Warriors to move up a few spots to No. 14?

The Pelicans would get a promising guard/wing prospect in Moody to add depth to their backcourt and could still add a quality player with the No. 19 pick. The Warriors would move up to No. 14 to presumably guarantee them landing their lottery target.

Again, a lot of this will be determined by who the Warriors could be targeting in the lottery. Without that known, it’s almost impossible to predict how high they need to move to make a trade worthwhile.

Nevertheless, the Warriors are a team to keep an eye on heading into the NBA Draft week. Will they make a move up the draft board? Will they make an even bigger move that we haven’t yet envisioned?
