2. Blake Griffin

Blake Griffin is at the point in his career where he is hitching his wagon to teams that have a chance to win a championship so he can add a ring to his trophy case. Could Griffin be the seventh guy on a bad team and actually log legitimate minutes? Probably. But that is not his priority at this point in his career.

After failing to win a ring with the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, Griffin could come back to California for a mini Lob City reunion with CP3. DeAndre Jordan is also a free agent but the Warriors should stay as far away as possible from him.

Griffin will undoubtedly be available for the veteran minimum and there undoubtedly should be a level of interest there. The only deciding factor is whether or not the Warriors would actually want to pursue the six-time all-star.

Blake Griffin makes a lot of sense for the Warriors in free agency

Look, this is not the best version of Griffin but that should go without saying. The Warriors don’t really have a means to spend much in free agency so expecting super impactful free agents is probably a bit far-fetched.

But that is not to say that Griffin couldn’t have an impact on this team, at least in the regular season. He has been working on his three-point shooting and actually was someone who teams had to respect from three at 34.8% last season. That fits right in on this team.

Plus, the Warriors could always use more size and there are some fun lineup possibilities with Griffin playing the five and CP3 orchestrating the offense off the bench. Golden State will still play its style, but every basketball fan would love to see the occasional high screen and roll with Paul and Griffin like it is still 2013.
