3 free agents that can replace Donte DiVincenzo at the Golden State Warriors
Seth Curry
Is this the time that the Curry brothers finally join up on the same team? The younger Curry is now a veteran himself, with Seth just completing his ninth NBA season including playing at least 57 games in each of the last six.
Curry has developed himself into one of the best three-point shooters in league history, shooting 43.5% for his career which ranks sixth all-time and third of current players.
Battling some minor ankle issues, the 32-year-old had a slightly down year in 2022-23 despite still making 61 regular season appearances. After averaging 15 points in 2021-22 and over 12 points in each of the two previous seasons before that, Curry averaged 9.2 points but still shot over 40% from deep.
His threat as a shooter has opened up improved playmaking in recent years, having averaged 3.6 assists in the 2021-22 season. In a high-motion offense that prioritizes perimeter shooting, the Warriors would become a nightmare for opposing defenses by adding another Curry to the mix. You can already see him joining his brother and Klay Thompson in running off screens and into dribble handoffs from Draymond Green and Kevon Looney.
Concluding a four-year $32 million contract, Curry is still worth well above a minimum contract. Yet surely the brothers have to play together at some point in their careers, and what better time than now while Steph is still an MVP-level player and Seth remaining an impactful rotation player.
