With their sights set on filling out their roster with quality role players in free agency, the Golden State Warriors will likely say goodbye to two reserves from last year’s team.

The Golden State Warriors are not expected to extend qualifying offers to Anthony Lamb or Ty Jerome, with the pair set to become unrestricted free agents.

Per Anthony Slater of the Athletic, there is “some level of interest” in bringing Anthony Lamb and/or Ty Jerome back into the fold, but Golden State will look to prioritize veterans on short-term deals as they round out their roster with players that can help them win at the highest level.

Nobody could’ve expected Anthony Lamb to crack Steve Kerr’s regular rotation, but he certainly put a little dent in it. The 25-year-old, who initially inked a two-way deal with the Dubs, earned a standard NBA contract in March, stepping up during the extended absence of Andrew Wiggins. In 62 regular season appearances, Lamb averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, though a shortened rotation limited his action during the playoffs.

Lamb didn’t necessarily excel at any one skill in particular and Warriors fans grew increasingly tired of his bone-headed lapses defensively, but his energy and effort never wavered, and Lamb carved out a respectable role for himself as a result.

An injury-riddled season opened the doors for Jerome to earn some minutes, and the 25-year-old Virginia product took advantage of his opportunity. Golden State’s backcourt depth left a lot to be desired but Jerome did enough to suffice, proving capable of running the Warriors’ offense in short stints. Jerome suited up for 45 games, averaging 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per contest.

Anthony Lamb can return as a two-way player for one more season, but Jerome is entering his fifth NBA season, meaning he is ineligible for a two-way contract. Jerome’s qualifying offer is $1.7 million, while Lamb’s is $2.2 million.
