Shock turnaround sees Golden State Warriors end Summer League in disaster
The Toronto Raptors have produced a stunning fourth-quarter turnaround, putting an end to the Golden State Warriors’ rough Summer League campaign with a 108-101 victory in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon.
Golden State appeared to be in control of the game leading by nine heading to the final period, only for the Raptors to pour in 40 points across the final 10 minutes, including a blistering 32-12 run that altered the fortune of the game.
A disappointing fourth-quarter against the Toronto Raptors has capped off a winless five-game stretch for the Golden State Warriors in Vegas.
The Warriors used a 31-18 second-quarter to overcome a slow start and take a 50-46 lead at half time. That lead extended to 14 with just over one minute remaining in the third, but their hopes of finishing in positive fashion were ultimately dashed down the stretch.
While the team result aspect has been unproductive for the Warriors, it’s been a promising Summer League for a number of individuals. That continued in Saturday’s contest with Lester Quinones again leading the way.

The 22-year-old guard stuffed the box score with 32 points, four rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks, showcasing his three-point shooting once more with four triples and 8-for-17 shooting (47.1%) overall.
After a 14-point, seven-rebound debut against the Houston Rockets on Thursday, Trayce Jackson-Davis impressed again with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double. The 23-year-old’s athleticism and finishing was again on display, providing a strong presence in the paint as he largely got the better of 128-game NBA center Moses Brown.
Eight of Jackson-Davis’ boards came on the offensive end, while he added two assists, two steals and two blocks. The 57th overall pick shot an efficient 8-for-12 (66.7%) from the field, and was one of only three Warrior players to record a positive plus-minus in a promising second-up outing.
The shooting struggles continued for Brandin Podziemski, with the 19th overall pick finishing with 11 points on 4-for-13 (30.8%) shooting. The 20-year-old did maintain his strong rebounding capacity with half a dozen boards, while illustrating his playmaking skills again with five dimes.
Golden State were without Brazilian forward Gui Santos, an absence that was surely felt in the final result. Following a 1-1 record at the California Classic, the disastrous fourth-quarter was an encapsulation of the Warriors’ struggles during a 0-5 Vegas stretch.
