NBA Summer League: Have Golden State Warriors unearthed potential two-way center?
The Golden State Warriors are now six games into their Summer League campaign, with the majority of focus centered on rookies Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis, along with potential two-way players Lester Quinones and Gui Santos.
Yet while the Warriors as a team have slumped to a 1-5 record, another player has stepped up as a potential roster addition over the last 48 hours. 6’8″ big man Reggie Perry has produced a pair of eye-popping performances, elevating as a player to watch as Golden State finalize next season’s roster over the coming months.
Reggie Perry could be pushing for a training camp invite after a strong showing for the Golden State Warriors during Summer League.
The 23-year-old center put up a monstrous 20 points and 17 rebounds against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, finishing as a +19 in 30 minutes off the bench in Golden State’s 98-96 overtime loss.
Perry did also have nine fouls in the contest — the Summer League limit is 10 — but that almost added to the intrigue of a very much noteworthy display. Four of his rebounds were offensive, while he also added three assists, a block, and shot 7-for-9 from the field.

Perry backed up that performance with another strong showing on Thursday, despite the addition of Golden State’s 57th overall pick Trayce Jackson-Davis. He had 17 points (5-for-6 shooting), eight rebounds, and two assists in just 17 minutes.
Taken by the 57th overall pick himself in 2020, Perry is now averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds and two assists during three Summer League appearances. He’s third for the team in points, first in rebounds, fourth in assists, second in blocks, first in field-goal percentage (73.9%) and second in three-point percentage (50%) — all while coming off the bench.
Originally drafted by the Brooklyn Nets, Perry has played in 36 total NBA games across three teams. 26 of those came in his rookie season with the Nets where he averaged three points and 2.8 rebounds in eight minutes per game.
Perry is still eligible for a two-way contract, making for an intriguing potential fit with Golden State should they wish to bolster their big man department. While that may happen with their vacant standard roster spots, the addition of a third two-way slot could see someone like Perry gain an opportunity with the franchise next season.
