The Golden State Warriors have added a potential player to next season’s roster, signing free agent guard Jerome Robinson to a training camp deal according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 26-year-old is a familiar face to the Warrior system, having been a part of the team’s training camp roster last season, and having spent the last two G League seasons with Golden State’s affiliate in Santa Cruz.

The Golden State Warriors have added another guard to their training camp roster, securing former Clipper and Wizard Jerome Robinson.

Robinson, a 6’4″ guard, was originally selected 13th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He was traded by the franchise after two seasons, before playing a further two years with the Washington Wizards.

Robinson holds career averages of 4.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists, shooting 36.3% from the floor and 31% from three-point range in 113 NBA games. His best stint came in 2020-21 with the Wizards, averaging 9.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and two assists in 21 games.

Robinson posted healthy numbers in the G League last season, averaging 14.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists while shooting 46.3% from the field, 36.2% from three-point range, and 92.9% from the free-throw line.

He averaged over 20 points and four assists in the 2021-22 G League season with the Warriors, leading to his training camp deal last year that saw him appear for Golden State in multiple preseason outings.

While Robinson now has an opportunity to again impress coaches and the front office, he still faces an enormous uphill battle to win a spot. After an explosive Summer League campaign and having won the G League’s Most Improved Player award last season, Lester Quinones appears the obvious next guard in line for Golden State. The franchise has tended a two-way qualifying offer to the 22-year-old, though his recent play may well warrant a standard deal with the Warriors or elsewhere.

Golden State currently have 13 contracted players on their main roster for next season, while they also have three two-way spots of which Robinson is ineligible to be signed to.
