8 Best undrafted talents to play for the Golden State Warriors
By Tyler Watts
4. Jeremy Lin
Before there was Linsanity in New York, the Harvard graduate signed with the Golden State Warriors. He went undrafted in 2010, but a strong performance on the Mavericks summer league squad landed the rookie in the Bay Area.
Lin dominated the G League by averaging 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.1 steals in 31.8 minutes per game over 20 contests, but he struggled to get minutes on the Warriors. He put up just 2.6 points and 1.4 assists in 9.8 minutes, and the Dubs released him after his rookie campaign.
The 6’3 guard quickly caught on with the Knicks, and Linsanity was born. New York was bounced in the first round of the playoffs, but everybody was talking about Jeremy Lin. He came out of nowhere to average 14.6 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.6 steals in 26.9 minutes per game.
Lin played nine years in the NBA, and the 34-year-old point guard is still getting buckets overseas. He spent time with the Rockets, Lakers, Hornets, Nets, Hawks, and Raptors after leaving the Big Apple in free agency. He is most remembered for his time with the Knicks, but Lin was a valuable role player and even helped the Raptors win a championship in 2019.
