NBA 2K24 is set for launch next month on September 8, with an anticipated gameplay trailer released on Tuesday.

While some were focused on important details like the game mechanics and the next generation technology known as ‘ProPlay’, others were quick to point out the lighter side of the gameplay involving a pair of former Golden State Warriors’ teammates.

NBA 2K has hilarious utilized the dynamic between Draymond Green and former Golden State Warriors’ guard Jordan Poole in their new gameplay trailer.

As part of the trailer, Poole is seen calling Green over for a one-on-one isolation on the perimeter as Golden State take on the Washington Wizards. The 24-year-old then makes a wing jumper over his former teammate cueing celebration.

The hand gesture of summoning Green appeared particularly amusing to fans, with the potential of a brewing rivalry between the two even despite the Wizards and Warriors meeting just twice during the regular season.

The Green-Poole dynamic has been the source of light-hearted jokes since the very serious incident between the two last October. The veteran forward struck his young teammate in an ugly altercation that was then broadcast to the world via a video leak.

The serious nature of the event was a major issue for the Warriors all last season, with the relationship (or lack thereof) between the pair a constant source of speculation among fans and the media.

Despite earning a new four-year, $128 million extension with Golden State last offseason, Poole was traded to the Wizards in a blockbuster deal for 12-time All-Star Chris Paul on draft day in June.

It was the start of a greater focus on Green and the Warriors’ veteran core, with the former Defensive Player of the Year re-signing with the franchise on a four-year, $100 million deal to begin free agency.
