Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors remain NBA’s biggest drawcard

When you’ve got one of the biggest faces of the league at your franchise, it’s fair to assume the NBA will want to take advantage with a host of nationally televised games. That’s what the Golden State Warriors have accrued with their two-time MVP Stephen Curry across recent years.

It seems nothing has changed ahead of next season, with ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel reporting that Curry and the Warriors will again lead the league with exactly half their games (41) on national television (inclusive of NBA TV).

The Golden State Warriors and superstar Stephen Curry remain the NBA’s biggest drawcard according to the national TV schedule for next season.

Earlier in the week Warrior legend Rick Barry suggested Curry was the face of the NBA over LeBron James. The 1975 Finals MVP may be onto something, with James and the Los Angeles Lakers one behind Golden State with 40 nationally televised games scheduled for next season.

The Warriors are also above another pacific rival, with an opening night blockbuster against Golden State one of the Phoenix Suns’ 37 nationally televised games scheduled for 2023-24. The top five is rounded out by the Boston Celtics with 34, and the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks with 30 apiece.

One team that’s seen a massive spike is the San Antonio Spurs, with the Victor Wembanyama effect fully on display. The presence of the first overall pick has seen the Spurs garner 19 nationally televised games — they only had one last season coming against the Warriors in the historic matchup at the Alamodome.

The Toronto Raptors have been left with the least amount of love, holding just three nationally televised games. The Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets and Houston Rockets only have four each.

Nothing sells like Curry and the Warriors though, with the addition of future hall-of-fame point-guard Chris Paul only adding to the fascination surrounding the franchise heading into next season.

Golden State will begin their regular season campaign against the Suns on October 24. Their first ever NBA Cup (In-Season Tournament) matchup will come ten days later on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
