With the NBA Schedule now in place, expectations can be set for the Golden State Warriors’ 2023-24 season. Over the next few weeks, Blue Man Hoop will provide projections on the franchise’s win-loss record with a month-by-month preview.

October Projections

15 games. A pair of back-to-backs. A four-game road-trip. A six-game homestand. There’s a lot happening for the Golden State Warriors in November and it’s sure to be important in setting up their championship aspirations.

November 1, vs. Sacramento Kings 7:00 PM

We have the Warriors projected to lose their opening game against the Kings at Golden 1 Center, so it’s only fair they get one back here. Golden State have won their past six regular season games against Sacramento at Chase Center.

Result: Golden State win

November 3 at Oklahoma City Thunder 5:00 PM (In-Season Tournament)

If there’s a good time to get the Thunder it may be early in the season while they’re still incorporating a fairly large piece in 2022 second overall pick Chet Holmgren.

Result: Golden State win

November 5 at Cleveland Cavaliers 3:00 PM

An undermanned Warriors produced one of their best wins of last season in Cleveland, but this is still a formidable task with the shot-making of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland, combined with the defensive presence of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allan.

Result: Golden State loss

November 6 at Detroit Pistons 4:00 PM

Golden State will be looking to avenge for a shock loss in Detroit early last season, which coincidentally also came on the second night of a back-to-back. While the Pistons will be buoyed by the return of Cade Cunningham, they’re still expected to be towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Result: Golden State win

November 8 at Denver Nuggets 7:00 PM

Not one team will go into Denver as favorites against a fully healthy Nuggets squad next season. Not impossible but very unlikely.

Result: Golden State loss

November 11 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 5:30 PM

The Cavaliers had a reasonable 20-21 record on the road last season (ranked eighth), but they’re still a much different proposition than at home.

Result: Golden State win

November 12 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves 5:30 PM

On the second night of a back-to-back, scheduling a first home loss here for the Warriors against a talented Timberwolves team.

Result: Golden State loss

November 14 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves 7:00 PM (In-Season Tournament)

Although it’s a third game in four nights, Golden State may be a little more motivated depending on the result of their first NBA Cup game against OKC on November 3.

Result: Golden State win

November 16 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder 7:00 PM

As talented as the Thunder are, their inexperience means they’ll still have some ups-and-downs particularly on the road.

Result: Golden State win

November 18 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder 5:30 PM

The Warriors have won their last five games at home against the Thunder and nine of their last 10 overall. This will be a fun little two-game sequence as part of three meetings between the teams in November.

Result: Golden State win

November 20 vs. Houston Rockets 7:00 PM

The Nuggets could be frisky and dangerous next season, but any major upset victories are likely to come on their home floor at Toyota Center.

Result: Golden State win

November 22 at Phoenix Suns 7:00 PM

Phoenix will likely go into every home game as favorite so long as Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are available.

Result: Golden State loss

November 24 vs. San Antonio Spurs 7:00 PM (In-Season Tournament)

This is projected to be the first time Golden State comes up against French phenom Victor Wembanyama. While the Spurs are developing a nice young core led by the first overall pick, a win over the Warriors at Chase Center would be a major shock.

Result: Golden State win

November 28 at Sacramento Kings 7:00 PM (In-Season Tournament)

A third meeting between the two teams within the opening month of the season. The Kings will be looking to cement Golden 1 Center as somewhat of a fortress, particularly against the Warriors in what is one of the NBA’s brewing rivalries.

Result: Golden State loss

November 30 vs. LA Clippers 7:00PM

Looking more than one game ahead with the Clippers is nigh on impossible given the injury history of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. They’re more than capable of winning this game but given the uncertainty, picking the Warriors on their home floor is the conservative and most likely option.

Result: Golden State win

Projected win-loss record in November: 10-5

Cumulative win-loss record:12-7
