Grading the remainder

Trayce Jackson-Davis (D)

Had a couple of spectacular blocks to showcase his defensive talents, yet also got beaten on a couple of occasions by Christian Wood — tough matchup for the rookie to be fair. The 57th overall pick had a nice transition assist for a Jerome Robinson and-1 layup, but otherwise produced little offensively and only had one rebound in his 15 minutes. Perhaps expected more after a pair of exciting games in Summer League, though nothing to be concerned about.

Jerome Robinson (B)

The most impressive of the two-way contracted players, finishing with eight points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal in 10 minutes. The 26-year-old has a veteran feel to him that could prove valuable at times during the regular season.

Donovan Williams (B-)

You can see the intrigue as a prospect given his size and athleticism. Finished a couple of plays at the basket and nailed his only three-point attempt. Three turnovers though and generally looked a little out of control when he put the ball on the floor. Feels like a good two-way option, however perhaps a little raw to have on the main roster.

Lester Quinones (D)

Little impact with just two points on 1-4 shooting, three rebounds and two turnovers in nearly 12 minutes. Certainly not quite the performance Quinones would have been hoping for, yet will have opportunity to respond.

Rudy Gay (B)

Four points and four rebounds in less than seven minutes for the 37-year-old. Missed both his three-point attempts which is a concern after shooting just 25% from deep last season. Provided a steadiness and veteran savviness though that may prove enough to earn the 14th roster spot.

Javan Johnson (C)

Nailed his first three-point attempt from a Podziemski feed but otherwise didn’t have a whole lot of impact in his nine minutes. Feels along way from being a genuine threat for the final roster.

Usman Garuba (C-)

A surprise to him play less than six minutes, with Jackson-Davis preferred at least initially. You can see the defensive upside with a steal and a block, yet not enough opportunity to really impact the game effectively.

Next. Golden State Warriors should keep an eye on talented center after trade merry-go-round. dark

Kendric Davis (C)

More of the same solid impact that we saw in Summer League, posting five points, two rebounds and two assists in a little over eight minutes. With Podziemski looking so assured, adding a 5’11” guard isn’t too necessary for the current roster.
