The Raptors could undergo significant changes before February’s trade deadline. Fred VanVleet left in free agency this summer, and Toronto replaced him with Dennis Schroder. Can they bounce back after missing the playoffs last season? A slow start could force a massive sell-off.

Pascal Siakam, Gary Trent Jr., Thaddeus Young, and Otto Porter Jr. are all in the final years of their contracts. OG Anunoby has a player option for the 2024-25 season and too could become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2024. Toronto must choose a direction and go towards it quickly.

Anunoby is the wing every team desires. He led the league in steals in 2023 and was named second-team All-Defense while averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. The 6’7 wing is a 37.5 percent 3-point shooter for his career and makes an impact on both ends of the floor. He guards multiple positions, gets buckets, and can do a bit of everything.

Could the Warriors trade Jonathan Kuminga for OG Anunoby? It would likely cost the Golden State Warriors their two available first-round picks plus enough salary to match Anunoby’s $18.6 million. At that point, the Dubs may just go star hunting by shopping Chris Paul’s contract.
