The Golden State Warriors defeated the Orlando Magic and claimed the Pacific Division Crown on Thursday night.

This is starting to feel more like it for the Golden State Warriors. A dominant win at home over an inferior opponent is something the Warriors do well and after the struggles of the past couple of weeks, it’s a nice change. The Warriors defeated the Orlando Magic, 122-92, on Thursday night.

While a win over the Magic in this fashion is nice it doesn’t necessarily mean their issues are over. The good news is that this is the type of win after a tough one over Philadelphia that can propel Golden State as they try to lock down the top seed in the Western Conference without Kevin Durant.

It’s always nice when Golden State has the game locked down by the fourth quarter. If the Warriors needed more reason to feel great, they officially clinched the Pacific Division on Thursday night. While that has never been in doubt, it’s always a nice little feeling to officially clinch a division and to be able to say  you’re better than your rivals.

Klay Thompson had 29 points in just 29 minutes of play and it was one of his best shooting nights of the season. Stephen Curry wasn’t exactly lights out shooting the ball but his 25 were welcome as well.

The real question here is where do the Warriors take this win? Yes, it’s a nice win to have but they need to be able to parlay this into a decent winning streak. That would certainly give them the momentum back that they’ve been missing.

It was always going to be a process without Durant in the lineup. They had to go to a place they’ve rarely been with this roster to hopefully find something better. This win could end up being the turning point of the season.

Sure, it’s against a bad Eastern Conference team. However, it brought out the Warriors that we are all used to seeing. If those guys are here to stay, then great things lie ahead on the horizon for the 2016-17 Pacific Division Champions.
