The Golden State Warriors will look to complete the sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 4 on Monday night.

It is yet another strange postseason for the Golden State Warriors. With the team one game away from sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers and moving onto the Western Conference Semifinals, the Warriors could now be without head coach Steve Kerr.

Suffering from complications from his back surgery, Kerr has not been well enough to join the team on the bench and could very well end up missing the rest of the playoffs. That means Mike Brown will step in as head coach of Golden State.

While that has been a lot to take in for the team, they’re also awaiting the return of Kevin Durant. With Golden State on the verge of putting Portland away on Monday night, conventional wisdom says that Durant won’t be seen on the floor again until the next round.

If and when Golden State advances, they should have plenty of rest as they await the winner of the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers. Those two teams are destined for at least a six-game series and it could very well end up going seven.

Still, Golden State has to be focused on Monday night. Portland isn’t going to go down without a fight and they took it to the Warriors in Game 3. At one point, Portland held a 17-point lead over Golden State.

Stephen Curry was able to rally the team and hit the big shot to seal the win. If they can win on Monday night, Golden State will get all the rest that they need as they wait for the next round to start. That should be all the incentive they need to get this series done and to rest up.
