Biedrins and Jefferson were going to become very important to the Warriors in 2014. No, not because they were going to turnaround their game and become great contributors, but because their expiring contracts would have rolled back $20 million in one of the most impressive free-agent classes in history.

Talents such as LeBron James, Chandler Parsons, Danny Granger, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen, Iman Shumpert, Kawhi Leonard, Kenneth Faried, Anthony Davis, Chris Bosh, Andre Drummond and Demarcus Cousins are all free agents after this upcoming season.

While the Warriors can still pursue marquee free agents in 2014, the loss of their expiring contracts means they would have to give up more of the team to get into the running.
