Wayne Ellington is a great pickup for a Mavericks team looking to buff up it’s frontcourt. With signings of Jose Calderon and Monta Ellis, Ellington adds a little depth at the 2 man position and is the perfect backup for the former Warrior. Ellington averaged 10.4 points on 43.9 percent shooting in 25.9 minutes played. He also averaged three rebounds and 1.6 assists during his stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Ellington shot an impressive 39.2 percent from beyond the arc on 3.1 attempts during his 2012-13 season. His credibility as a three-point shooter spaces the floor and creates room for other players, namely the aging Dirk Nowitzki. Ellington is a proven talent coming off the bench and for a two year, five million dollar deal, he will provide a lot of value for the Mavericks.
