I already wrote an article expounding Toney Douglas’ tremendous value in-depth, but to give you the gist of it: Douglas was one of the best signings given his ability to do so much with so little.
The former King averaged 6.1 points, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals in just 17 minutes a game. He also shot 38.9 percent on 2.5 three-point attempts. That’s a lot going on in 17 minutes.
Douglas is someone who hustles every possessions and plays every minute to it’s fullest and his natural defensive ability will be invaluable for a Warriors team that lost its defensive savant in Mike Malone to the Sacramento Kings. He will also be the perfect backup to Stephen Curry, as he commands respect from beyond the arc and can also make important defensive stops at the perimeter.
Did I mention his contract is only one year, $1.6 million?
