In 2013-14, Portland could very well be the Golden State Warriors of last season. Not too many people expect the Blazers to make it into the playoffs, but their Big Three of LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard and Nicolas Batum just might surprise folks this year.

Aldridge is one of the best power forwards in the game. Over the past three seasons he has averaged 21.5 points and 8.6 rebounds, consistently flirting with a nightly double-double. Rookie of the Year, Damian Lillard, bursted on to the scene last year, averaging 19 points and 6.5 assists. And Batum balanced things out nicely with 14.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

While the Blazers’ Big Three may not be as formidable as some of the others already listed, they are a solid core of players. I expect to see them carry Portland past Utah, Dallas and possibly the Lakers to secure a spot in the playoffs.
