This category is also hard to judge, as Coach Kevin McHale’s largest test is coming this next season in the form of Dwight Howard. Whether or not the Hall of Fame center can control the future Hall of Fame center has yet to be determined, and the outcome of that process will largely be the deciding factor in which coach is better.

Currently, the edge goes to Mark Jackson, who has seemingly not only done an excellent job coaching the Warriors, but also constructing a culture in Golden State. His second job as a pastor has clearly influenced not only his coaching style, but his demeanor on the court. He instituted a “no cursing” policy in the Warriors locker room and invites his players to attend his church, the True Love Worship Center International in Van Nuys, California.

Though he is not much of an X’s and O’s coach, his ability to motivate his team is second to none. His ability to change the identity of a team that was once known for it’s star player choking the coach to a team now known for its strong Christian values and it’s outstanding locker room chemistry.

Edge: Warriors
