Though he remains one of the more skilled low-post players in the entire league, it’s been clear that David Lee just doesn’t fit on the Warriors.

Their fast paced, three-point happy approach isn’t conducive to Lee’s plodding, calculated style of play. Though he’s hitting over 51% of his attempts, Lee has only been able to average about six shots per game in 18 minutes, indicating that Lee is a piece that doesn’t fit in Golden State’s offense. It’s clear that Steve Kerr has tried to work Lee in the rotation as he’s seen time in 43 games despite missing 23 of the first 24 games of the year due to injury.
Since March 1st however, it’s become obvious that Lee has fallen out of favor with Kerr, playing 12 minutes or less on four different occasions and receiving DNP’s in five different games. Barring injury or a drastic change in philosophy, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Lee is going to be watching most of the Warriors’ playoff run in his warmups.
Verdict: Out.
